Here at Quirky Squirrel we love Capybaras.  In case you're not aware of the

Capybara here are some fun facts:

~ The Capybara (hydrochoerus hydrochaeris)

is the world's largest rodent.  Full grown

Capybaras weigh 35-65 kg and can

reach up to 135 cm in length.

~ The name Capybara means "rat as big as a pig".

~ Capybaras are herbivores and enjoy melons and  squash.  We like fruit too.

~ Capys are highly social creatures and roll 10-40 deep.

~ Capys are native to South America.  They are fast runners and can swim well due to their webbed feet.  They can stay underwater for several minutes and can even sleep in water with their nostrils exposed.
